One of Many Is Back

It has been a little while since One of Many last published a story.

Over the past several months, I was living and studying in London through the School for Ethics and Global Leadership. My days were filled with conversations about migration, conflict, diplomacy, inequality, and the decisions that shape people’s lives across borders. I met policymakers, academics, journalists, and community leaders — but, more importantly, I was constantly reminded of the value of listening before speaking.

During that time, I stepped away from publishing. It was not because I had lost interest in One of Many or its mission. Instead, I was learning, reflecting, and thinking more deeply about the kinds of stories this journal should tell and how it can tell them responsibly.

Now, One of Many is back!

In the coming weeks, we will return with two new stories told through the perspectives of young people in the United States. One will explore how immigration enforcement and the fear surrounding ICE are affecting families and communities. The other will examine Jewish identity in America today, including questions of faith, belonging, antisemitism, and how global events can shape personal identity.

Though the stories focus on different experiences, both return to the purpose at the centre of One of Many: looking beyond political debates and headlines to understand how larger events are experienced by individual people.

Thank you to everyone who has read, shared, or contributed to One of Many so far. This pause was never an ending. It was an opportunity to return with a clearer purpose, a broader perspective, and even more excitement for what comes next.
